Application area of oxygen binders:

Steam generators and boilers for heating systems are generally operated oxygen-free in order to prevent corrosion damages in boilers, heat exchangers, pipings and in condensate systems. Thermal degassing assumes major importance as physical pre-treatment procedure here. Oxygen binders are introduced here for the chemical removal of residue oxygen content and, thus, administer that always a lower surplus is traceable.

Use of hydrazine as oxygen binder is eliminated in many cases due to its toxicity, mainly, when the steam generated is used for humidification or sterilization, among others, or the handling of hydrazine products is to be avoided. Use of oxygen binders on sulphite basis then presents an efficient alternative.

Area of application of cleaning products:

Mineral deposits in water-bearing systems impair the performance, promote material corrosion and can finally lead to operational disturbances. They must, therefore, be removed. Scales or corrosion residues are to be cleaned as quickly as possible and in the most inexpensive way in many cases with strong mineral acids. Selection of acids is based on the available materials. Strong acids are extremely aggressive towards most of the normally used metals. An effective and reliable protection through additional measures is absolutely necessary in order to prevent the onset of corrosion.
